President's ruling on
amendment proposed by Hon LEE Cheuk-yan to motion on
"Regretting the decision of the
Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to rule out universal suffrage in the years 2007 and 2008"
to be moved by Hon Albert HO Chun-yan
at the Legislative Council meeting on 19 May 2004
Hon LEE Cheuk-yan wrote to the Legislative Council President Hon Mrs Rita FAN HSU Lai-tai regarding the above ruling on 14 May 2004, in objection of President's ruling. President has replied to Lee Cheuk-yan on 18 May 2004 and stated that she stand by her ruling that Lee Cheuk-yan's amendment to the motion is not in order.
